The last thing the business itself said to a channel customer, when it did
not go through the AI — an outbound template, or a message an external app
sent. A reply to it is a fragment ("yes", "how much?") that is meaningless
without what was asked, and the AI's own history never saw it, so it is kept
on the conversation and shown to the AI on every turn — until the business
says something new on its own (it is replaced) or a person replies (it is
dropped). The AI's and the system's own replies don't drop it: they are in,
or don't affect, what the AI remembers, while the message itself is not.

Minting, rotating and classifying widget conversation tokens.
One module decides how long a conversation token lives, which claims survive a
rotation, and what a dead token means. Three call sites used to answer that last
question differently, which is how an identified visitor could silently become a
fresh anonymous customer just by leaving the page open past the token's TTL.
